B Sharp Busking Festival Success!

Thu 11 July 2024

From our partners B Sharp;

We are delighted to share news of our successful B Sharp Busking Festival last weekend!
We had a great day, with performances from all our groups from the little 5 year olds at Seaton Starz, to our young adults in our Houseband group. Our groups were proud to share their work with an audience of family, friends and supporters, as well as Lyme Regis visitors.

There were workshops and activities for all ages, including a Ukulele Workshop led by Lyme Luggers, a Pop-Up Choir with Seaton Acapella, Drumming Circles, and free Harbour Records recording sessions. We even had activities for babies and toddlers, with a Little B’s Boogie family gig and drop-in early years music sessions in our Little B’s Beach Hut.

There were buskers of all ages performing throughout the town – from young musicians having their first go at performing in public through to seasoned professionals. The Town Mill supported B Sharp with a busking stage in their courtyard, providing a lovely space to listen to music on a sunny afternoon.

Thank you to all the performers, buskers and audiences who came to support our young participants. And to the hard-working B Sharp team and music leaders who made it all happen!

We look forward to seeing you all again next year! If you are interested in supporting B Sharp through volunteering, or sponsorship please do get in touch – we would love to hear from you.

“B, S and their band the Sidways Shapes thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were bowled over by their takings. So very generous of B Sharp to include them and to give young musicians such a fabulous opportunity to perform. All the B Sharp staff were so helpful, encouraging and supportive, and the whole thing was so well organised.” Parent of young buskers and young band.

“I just came down today and asked if I could play a couple of tunes. It was really informal and casual, I don’t often get a chance to perform so it was really nice to have the chance. I have played since I was seven but it was good to get a chance to perform.”  L, Young Musician, age 19.
