Dorset Music Service is teaming up with colleagues from across Somerset Council and The Octagon Theatre team to form the Dorset & Somerset Music Hub from September 2024.
The new hub team will draw in the expertise of partners and stakeholders from across the existing music education hub communities in both counties to develop and shape the offer for, and with, children and young people. We expect many new opportunities to emerge as we work with The Octagon Theatre as lead organisation, not only in their role significant local venue and host to national and international performers, but also with the commitment they have to community and outreach programmes that focus on wider creative learning and art forms.
Whilst the ‘new hub’ may not look or feel very different to children, families and schools from September, much work has gone on behind the scenes and so we are delighted to finally celebrate this news.
We are thrilled to be part of this dynamic new venture, that brings like-minded and aspirational colleagues together to create even more opportunities for all of our children and young people.
