The Dorset Music Hub community offers a range of opportunities to develop capacity for high-quality music education to reach more young people.
The music workforce in schools, community & cultural settings can access resources and guidance to better meet the needs of more young people.
Music Leaders and SEND specialist providers can network with others in our community of practice, benefit from local and national expertise and develop your confidence in adapting your practice to include more young people in music-making.
We provide advice, resources and training to help you set and meet your development goals around quality of provision, inclusion and the holistic benefits to wellbeing that music and creativity brings.
Through connecting with DMH, music leaders in settings can benefit from:
- Working with our highly experienced team with in-depth knowledge and strong links with music and cultural partners.
- A focus on developing capacity and skills of staff to build sustainability of provision.
- Access to local, regional and national expertise ensuring schools and pupils benefit from national best practice in music education.
- Strong focus on inclusive practice so ALL young people can benefit from the holistic benefits of music-making and creativity as well as opportunities to progress their skills.
- Specific support to achieve good outcomes for pupils with SEND, SEMHD and pupils who face challenges, and to help close the gap for Pupil Premium, FSM and other identified cohorts of young people.
- High-quality training on a range of topics designed to improve confidence and expertise of teams to use music to support good outcomes in your community.
